The Power of a Custom Website in El Paso

Plus, a big congratulations to Tom Lea Institute’s Adair Margo!

It’s no secret that you can’t run an organization in the modern world without a website. But did you know you also need a great custom website to preserve works of art for future generations? Case in point: El Paso’s First Lady Adair Magro, founder of the Tom Lea Institute.

Adair Margo founded the Tom Lea Institute in 2009 to spark public appreciation of El Paso artist Tom Lea’s art, character, and legacy. Lea’s paintings and writings range in subject from borderland history to bullfighting and WWII battles. His conflict paintings captured the harsh realities and rawness of war for TIME Magazine in a way cameras never could have done.

But without Adair stepping in and initiating art preservation efforts, most of his work would have disappeared completely after his death in 2001. And now she is being honored for her hard work by The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution! The society will present her with the prestigious Historic Preservation Medal in March 2019.

We’d like to congratulate Adair and honor her constant energy and creativity as she makes Lea’s work accessible to El Paso and the world. Her vision is contagious and we consider it a true privilege to partner with her and The Tom Lea Institute.

A custom website in El Paso can preserve art (and build momentum)

Adair and the Tom Lea Institute recently partnered with 8 Signal to redesign their website. The old website was incredibly slow and cumbersome due to poor design and the many amazing images of Tom Lea’s artwork it housed.

But if she was really going to take preservation efforts to the next level, a level where future generations, art lovers, and historians could all access Lea’s important work from anywhere in the world, Adair and her team knew they needed a responsive, local company that would go the extra mile to create an artful, custom website in El Paso.

The 8 Signal team so enjoyed working with the Tom Lea Institute. From our initial consultation, it was clear that Adair’s passion for Lea’s work isn’t based solely on the friendship they shared but on the impact his work has on the people who experience it.

It was such a pleasure to help her open up Lea’s art and writings to the whole world with a stunning, user-friendly website that is able to keep up with the institutes many images and e-commerce needs.

Your market is looking for great custom websites

Just as Lea’s art would be lost without thoughtful preservation and innovative technology, your organization risks being lost in the Sun City shuffle without a professional custom website in El Paso.

“Previously our website designer was another provider with a full-time day job. We were an after-hours client. As a non-profit, we lacked the time and staff to monitor the website, but we realized it did not have a cohesive look and that it was content-heavy and in desperate need of updating. We chose 8 Signal because of their concern with getting the website just right, their attention to detail. Now that we’re with 8 Signal — it’s nice being a client rather than being someone’s side job.”
